Exit 6 Film Festival presents: an International Women’s Day short film showcase
Join the Exit 6 team for an evening showcasing some of their favourite shorts from previous festival years in honour of International Women’s Day. We have curated an evening of superb films created by, featuring, and themed around women!
Current line up, with more to be confirmed soon:
FOR BETTER | Rating: 12A | Director – Kitty Percy | Comedy
Jeanine, 40, attempts to fix her loneliness by standing beside an A-road in a wedding dress, with a sign saying MARRY ME, but finds a better solution in an unexpected place…
EGG TIMER | Rating: 15 | Director – Rosie May Bird Smith | Comedy
As Megan faces her 30th birthday, the pressure to take the “next step” in life is overwhelming. But when her own opinionated ovarian eggs start chiming in on her every move, she finds herself navigating not just the expectations of family and friends, but also the brutally honest commentary from within. In a comedic clash between reality and her ovaries, Megan must decide whose voice to listen to.
THE DATE | Rating 18 | Director – Amy Hodge | Drama
Sasha, a loud mouthed thirteen-year-old, goes on her first date but when she gets turned on and takes charge of her own sexuality it reveals the confusing nature of what girls are allowed to want.
MEDEA | Rating 15 | Director – Riffy Ahmed | Drama
A reinterpretation of Euripides’ Original play, Medea, through a BIPOC lens. After escaping from her homeland and now abandoned by the man she loves, Medea must find strength from within to fight against growing injustice – how far is she willing to go?
Three – 18 | Director – Amelia Sears | Drama
A weekend away at the seaside is Ellie’s first family holiday since she and Nick had Harry. But holidays are not like they used to be. Neither is her marriage or her body.
