Paul Merton and Suki Webster's Improv Show at The Anvil

Paul Merton and Suki Webster, two of the UK's leading improvisers, are set to embark on a highly anticipated UK tour of their improv show, kicking off at The Anvil in Basingstoke on October 11, 2025. This tour follows their critically acclaimed seasons in London and Edinburgh, where they have delighted audiences with their unique brand of unscripted comedy.

The show promises an evening of wonderfully unscripted, cutting-edge comedy, featuring fast, fabulously funny improvised games, scenes, stories, and laugh-out-loud surrealism. Merton and Webster, who are also a married couple, will be joined by their old friend and improv virtuoso Mike McShane, along with other special guests. The show is designed to create cascades of laughter and joyful silliness, all deftly conjured up on the spot based on suggestions from the audience.

Paul Merton is a well-known figure in the world of comedy, with a long-standing presence on BBC Radio 4's "Just A Minute" and TV shows such as "Have I Got News For You" and "Room 101". His autobiography, "Only When I Laugh," reached the Sunday Times bestseller Top 102. Merton has also co-starred with Webster in the Channel 5 travel series "Motorhoming with Paul Merton and Suki Webster," which has aired for two series.

Suki Webster, a founding member of Paul Merton's Impro Chums, has toured the world with them and has appeared in a West End run of "One Word Improv" with Eddie Izzard. She has also written and starred in the comedy-drama series "My Obsession," which aired on Radio 4 in June 20192. Webster's TV work includes appearances in "Giles Wemmbley Hogg" (BBC 2) and Ross Noble's directorial debut "The Catchment" (Sky).

As the tour progresses, audiences across the UK can expect an evening of sensational improvised comedy that showcases the talents of these two masters of comedy improvisation. With their quick wit, inventive storytelling, and infectious joy, Paul Merton and Suki Webster's Improv Show is sure to be a highlight of the 2025 comedy calendar.
