Basingstoke’s parkrun at The War Memorial Park brings the town’s running community together for its weekly, free 5k event, a friendly, inclusive start to the weekend held every Saturday at 9am.

The Course
The 5k route winds through grass, woodland, and tarmac paths within War Memorial Park. Depending on the weather, expect mud, leaves, or puddles on some sections. Marshals or signage guide participants around the course, and runners share paths with other park users, so courtesy is key.

Community & Post‑Run Social
The event is entirely volunteer‑run, and new helpers are always welcome. After the run, participants often head to a nearby café for a post‑parkrun coffee and chat, the Run Director announces the chosen spot on the day.

Travel & Practical Tips
- Arrive early - parking can be limited.
- Walk, jog, cycle, or use public transport where possible to reduce congestion and environmental impact.
- Bring your barcode - no barcode means no recorded time.
